mabanua is a Japanese drummer, producer, and singer who has definitely made his mark in the Japanese music scene in the past 10 years. A multi-instrumentalist who has collaborated with some of the biggest starts in the J-pop music scene, to some of the dopest rappers in the underground scene. His production catalogue exceeds well over 100 songs. Not only has he been indispensable in the music scene, he has been responsible for creating music for film, television, and anime. In addition, he has played with a number of overseas artists such as Toro y Moi, Chet Faker, Madlib, and Thundercat. As a member of the Japanese band “Ovall“, he has played at some of biggest festivals here in Japan.

全ての楽器を自ら演奏し、それらの音をドラマーならではのビートセンスでサンプリング、 Hip-hopのフィルターを通しながらもジャンルに捉われない音創りで音楽好きを虜にする。
2008年、1stアルバム『done already』でデビュー、そのサウンドプロデュースが話題となりUNIQLOやGoogleなどの企業CM、映画、ドラマの劇伴など数百曲以上のアレンジやプロデュースを手掛ける。中でも2018年に手掛けたアニメ「メガロボクス」、2021年の続編「NOMAD メガロボクス2」のサウンドトラックは世界中で話題となり、ワールドワイドでその名を轟かせることになる。
また、2025年にAnderson .PaakとのプロジェクトNxWorriesでグラミー賞を受賞したKnxwledgeがmabanuaを絶賛、3rdアルバム『Blurred』収録の「Call on Me feat. Chara」のリミックスに自ら名乗りをあげた他、Madlib、Orono (Superorganism)、Charaなど世界各国のミュージシャンとのコラボレーションを実現。さらにThundercatが出演したブレインフィーダージャパンツアーやToro Y Moi、Chet Fakerの日本公演に出演するなど、数多くの世界的アーティストとの共演を果たす。
ソロ活動以外では、関口シンゴ、Shingo Suzukiと共に、バンド “Ovall（オーバル）” としても活動。FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 、GREENROOM FESTIVAL、RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL、Sunset Liveなど日本全国の大型フェスをはじめ、アジア諸国でのライブも積極的に行う。
